MUIRO announces about GERLS – German Egyptian Research Long-Term Scholarship

We would like to draw your kind attention that the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are pleased to announce the 10th Call for the German-Egyptian Research Long Term Scholarship Program (GERLS) for the academic year 2018/2019.

The GERLS Program is provided to candidates who desire to obtaining or completing their PHD in one of the German Universities under the supervision of German professors.

The target group of this program will be comprised of Egyptian researchers who generally have been awarded M.A./M.Sc. degrees in the past three years.

Kindly note, that the deadline for application is 1st December 2017. The application should be online through the DAAD portal. For more information, please refer to the attached guide “How to apply online?”.

Calls for the State Awards for 2017

The Academy of Scientific Research announces for applying the state awards 2017:

the Nile awards, the state Merit awards, the stat awards of Excellence and the Encouragement awards

- The Nile Awards: Three Awards: One in the field of Science Two in the field of advanced Technological Sciences the value of each Four hundred thousand pounds, certificate and gold medal.

- The State Merit Awards: Ten Awards, Five awards in the fields of science and Five awards in advanced Technological Sciences, the value of each Two hundred thousand pounds certificate and a gold medal.

- The Stat Awards of Excellence: Seven Awards, Four Awards in the Field of Sciences and three in advanced Technology Sciences, the value of each one hundred thousand pounds, certificate and a silver medal.

- The State Encouragement Awards: forty awards, eleven awards in the field of Basic Sciences, eight Awards in the field of agricultural sciences, seven awards in the fields of medical science, eight awards in the field of engineering science, and eight in advanced Technological Sciences the value of each fifty thousand pounds and certificate.

The deadline for sending or delivering the nomination papers and submitting the prizes is December 31, 2017.

The research visits to Poland and the Czech Republic

The Scientific Research Academy announces calls for the program of the exchange of research visits which is within

the executive program between the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology with the Polish Academy of Sciences as well as the Czech Academy of Sciences.

 The aim of these visits is to train and develop the Egyptian researchers to interact and agree on the future cooperation, to gather scientific material, and to benefit from the capabilities of the foreign side.

Visits are:

 - Long visits: 1-2 months / one visit

 -short visits: 2-1weeks

Visits are available from February to October 2018

• Who has the right to progress:

All researchers from Egyptian research centers, research institutes and public and private universities are entitled to apply

The deadline for receiving proposals is 10 October 2017

Extending the deadline of applying to the university awards 2016/2017

The University of Mansoura announces the extension for applying the university awards for 2016/2017 

(Merit - Scientific Creativity - Scientific Excellence - Encouragement - the best dissertations of the doctorate and master degrees). The deadline for submission of the awards is 10/9/2017 to 30/9/2017.
Noting that the application forms and evaluation form A, B are at the academic data at the website of Mansoura university. Also, the faculty members have to complete the forms electronically and will not pay attention to the nominations received in other forms and after this date.

A free course offered by the World Intellectual Property Organization

The Intellectual Property and Patents Office at Mansoura University announces that

the Patent Office in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has opened the registration at the General Session of the Intellectual Property of Egypt through Distance Education
The course aims to enable participants to know how to protect their inventions, writings and creativity in all scientific, literary and industrial fields without compromising the rights of others.

• The course starts: 1 October to 24 November 2017
• This course provides the basic principles of intellectual property in accordance with the Egyptian Intellectual Property Protection Law No. 2002/82

• The course is free of charge and the final exam is completed. The final exam is successfully obtained by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Egyptian Patent Office
