MUIRO announces ​Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions () under Horizon 2020 Programme for the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE).

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) is a bottom up research funding (all research areas - no thematic calls or predefined priorities) and it promotes mobility & exchange of researchers & staff. RISE Scheme promotes international and inter-sectoral collaboration through staff exchanges, sharing of knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa) for the advancement of science and the development of innovation.

A RISE proposal should include activities for the development of joint research and innovation ​and/or networking activities, organisation of workshops and conferences to facilitate sharing of knowledge, new skills acquisition and career development for research and innovation staff members. The activities could be focused on one dimension of mobility (International or inter-sectoral) or a combination of both. The R&I tasks/deliverables must be implemented through secondments of staff members with an in-built return mechanism to foster knowledge sharing and long-term collaboration.

RISE consortium must be composed of at least 3 independent organisations from 3 different countries. At least 2 of them should be from an EU Member States (MS) or Associated Countries (AC).

German Egyptian Research Short-Term Scholarship Programme (GERSS)

The German Egyptian Research Short term Scholarship GERSS is a programme jointly funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) and the German Academic Exchange Service, Bonn (DAAD) in order to finance short term scholarships for young Egyptian scientists in Germany. The target group of the programme are researchers enrolled in MSc, PhD programmes and young Post-Doctoral candidates. The scholarships may be awarded for a period from three to six months.
The scholarship shall enable advanced graduate students and young scientists to pursue part of their master’s, doctoral or post-doctoral research in a specific research project at German universities, archives, libraries or research institutes.


The next call for application is expected on 15th of January 2018.

Call for the membership at the qualitative councils

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology includes a group of elite scientists from universities and research centers

as well as experts in various sectors of the membership of the qualitative councils. The councils involve one third of being the best scientists in Egypt according to international standards, the second third of the members of the best young scientists in Egypt in accordance with international standards who are under the age of 45 and the last third of experts and locally, regionally and internationally who have proven experience relevant to the work and specialization of the Council.

The application will be submitted through the website of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology only. No applications submitted by hand or any nominations submitted directly to the President of the Academy will be considered.

-- Only one of the councils can any applicants register.

-- The Academy takes into consideration the diversity of disciplines for each specific council.

-- In the case of equivalence grades, the account females and geographical distribution at Egypt will be considered.

Job prospect at the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils

The Scientific Research Academy calls for job as Assistant Secretary of Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils in accordance with the following conditions:

- The candidate must have a doctorate and have experience and knowledge of scientific research for 10 year at least.
- To be an Arab citizen and not more than 57 years of age.
- The State which has a candidate should pay its contributions to the Union.
