Falling Walls Lab Egypt 2018: Call for application

The fifth annual event “Falling Walls Lab Egypt 2018”, hosted and organized by DAAD Cairo Office and supported by the Falling Walls Foundation and our local partners Innovate Egypt (TIEC), Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT) and German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, for young excellent researchers, is coming up.

Outstanding young academics, entrepreneurs and specialists from all disciplines will get the chance to share their ground-breaking idea by presenting it in three minutes on stage. The winner of every national Falling Walls Lab will be awarded a slot for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin on 8 November 2018 and a ticket to the Falling Walls Conference on 9 November 2018.

The Falling Walls Lab Egypt takes place on 12 July 2018. Applications can be submitted online until 16 June 2018.

The application procedure includes two steps:

Firstly, applications are made centrally on the Falling Walls Website: http://falling-walls.com/lab/apply.

Secondly, application videos of max. 3 minutes presenting the idea or project must be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

All applicants to only send videos that are presented in English language, preferably showing not only the content, but also the presenter.

Collaborative Research Program

As a part of the cooperation between Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and International Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), the Collaborative Research Program (CRP) is announced to fund research projects in the following areas: Basic Science, Human Health Care and Industrial and Agricultural Biotechnology and Bioenergy. The upper limit of the fund is 25,000 Euro per year, and the application deadline is 30 April 2018. C.V. Raman Fellowship for African Researchers programme

Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India (GoI), through the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) have launched the C.V. Raman Fellowship for African Researchers programme under the India-Africa.

Forum Summit to promote human capacity building through scientific and technological cooperation between Africa and India.

The objective of this Fellowship is to provide opportunity for African researchers to conduct collaborative research in various areas of science and technology in different Indian universities and R&D institutions under guidance of host scientists in India. This prestigious fellowship is aimed to further strengthen the bond between India and African nations in the fields of science and technology.

Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is the 'Coordinating Partner' for C V Raman International Fellowship Programme. FICCI, on behalf of GoI, invites applications from African researchers for award of this fellowship for conducting research in Indian institutions across all areas of science and technology.
