Mansoura University occupies the 3rd position according to Webometrics 2017

 university was ranked in the ranking 1411 globally and the university ranked 3rd over the government Egyptian universities after Cairo and Alexandria University.

 The Webometrics's result of the assessment is for the 2nd half of this year, "July 2017".
The results of the new classification show that the university is distinguished locally and has occupied the 3rd position.
It is worth mentioning that the Webometrics International Assessment of Universities is the largest system of assessment of international universities. It specializes in measuring the quality of educational and research services on the Internet, covering more than 20,000 universities worldwide.
It is issued by the Supreme Council for Scientific Research in Spain, which is a semi-annual assessment, issued in January and July of each year.

The International Conference of Blood Vascular Surgery

The International Blood Vascular Surgery Conference of Delta Universities, organized this year by the Department of Vascular Surgery at Mansoura University, opened on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

The conference will be chaired by Prof. Hisham Sharafuddin, Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery, Mansoura University. It has discussed the new scientific studies in blood vessel surgery, complications of diabetes, the use of interventions and medial stents in the treatment of blockage and narrowing of the peripheral arteries and carotid arteries without surgery as well as the expansion of the aorta using the stents covered without surgery. It is held on the conference workshop to train doctors on micro operations with the use of SIMILATOR. For the first time, the competitive sessions between doctors to win the best research in the blood vessel surgery. Also, the doctors have been registered so far for more than two hundred doctors Physician to attend the conference and participate in providing scientific research and discussion over two days.

A new Partnership on Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA)

 A new Partnership on Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) will develop much-needed solutions for a more sustainable management of water and agro-food systems. The main objective of the ten-year initiative (2018 – 2028), which is partly funded by EU's research and innovation programme Horizon 2020, is to devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanization and population growth.

The partnership currently consists of 19 participating countries: Algeria, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey. As the initiative is evolving over time, more participants, from both EU and non-EU countries, are expected to follow.

The partnership will be financed through a combination of funding from participating countries (currently €274 million), and a €220 million contribution from the EU through Horizon 2020, its research and innovation funding programme (2014 – 2020).
