Mansoura University become a member in GEoPD consortium
GEoPD (Genetic Epidemiology of Parkinson Disease) is the largest global consortium of researchers dedicated to promoting education, scientific research and translational development in Parkinson’s disease. The consortium has been operating since 2004, and has an active membership from more than 60 sites on six continents.
This year (Oct. 2016), GEoPD invited Dr. Mohamed Salama (MERC Director) to the annual meeting and to represent Mansoura University as the newest member of the consortium. This is the first time an Egyptian or Arabic institution join the GEoPD.
The choice has been made based on successful international research cooperation with Technical University of Munich (Germany), Duke University (USA) and the list of Translational Neuroscience research that has been done in Neurology Unit in Medical Experimental Research Center (MERC) in Mansoura University, and established Egyptian Network for Neurodegenerative Diseases (ENND) that is coordinated by Mansoura University.
