A Seminar for Students of Mansoura University, Entitled “Global Economic Horizons and their Implications for the Egyptian Economy”
Today, on Monday 20th February 2023, the first events of the 1st Economic Educational Forum were started. This forum was organized by the University and began with a lecture by Dr. Ashraf ElAraby – Former Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform, and Chairman of Institute of National Planning. The lecture was entitled “Global Economic Horizons and their Implications for the Egyptian Economy”.
The events were organized by the Sector of Students’ Affairs at Mansoura University during the period 20th -21st February 2023 at the Conference Hall, The General Administration of the University. The events were held under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Yousef Khater- President of Mansoura University, the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Attia ElBayoumy- Vice-President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, and under the supervision of the Associate Professor/ Hanaa ElGohary- the Associate Professor of Statistics at the Faculty of Commerce and the Coordinator of the Forum.
The attendees were: the deans, vice-deans of different faculties of the University, faculty members, employees, Mr/ Hazem Nasr- Deputy Editor-in-Chief of AlAkhbar and Director of Dakahlia Office, Student Unions of the University, and a great number of students of different faculties of the University.
Prof. Mohamed Attia ElBayoumy highlighted the vital role of the University for participating in raising the student’s awareness, and presenting an influential model in the global economic community such as, Dr. Ashraf ElAraby. He added that Dr. ElAraby helps clarify the efforts of the Egyptian State in confronting various economic crises, and answering all questions. Besides, Dr. ElAraby is considered one of the illuminating prophets and the prominent figures in the society.
Dr. Hanaa ElGohary noted that the forum aims to qualify elite students in order to be capable of spreading cultural awareness. Besides, it targets the continuation of work process, development and raising the economic performance of the society. All of these targets can achieve the fundamental elements of building the presents as well as the future of our dearest homeland, Egypt.
Mr. Hazem Nasr asserted that the seminar is a good opportunity for the students of Mansoura University to meet Dr. Ashraf ElAraby as one of the important, patriotic and elite figures who put Egypt’s Vision 2030. Mr. Hazem hoped that the students can benefit of the fruitful information to reach the best status amid the economic crisis.
Dr. Ashraf ElAraby participated in the events of seminar in parallel with the economic crisis. He presented the economic status through the last ten years and its implication on the Egyptian society. He showed the attendees the various procedures that were taken by the global economics in order to face the economic crisis, and following up the policy of rationalization in order to reach high levels of growth. In addition to, he presented the policies of some global economies such as America, China and Europe. Besides, he clarified the mechanisms and policies of the Egyptian state in facing the crisis by working on increasing production, increasing exports, facilitating the task of investors, and completing the infrastructure in various governorates of the Republic through the implementation of major national projects. These can be fulfilled through building new factories, and other things that can contribute to support the Egyptian economy.
The seminar was followed by a long discussion as the students asked questions to uncover concepts and fears towards the economic crisis. Dr. Ashraf ElAraby replied to these questions accurately and corrected the wrong concepts and answered questions that were running on the students’ minds.
