Dr. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced that the university has achieved a new international milestone by entering the list of the top 500 global universities in 13 academic subjects for 2025, according to the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2025. This marks a significant increase from its appearance in only 11 subjects last year. He emphasized that this development reflects the university's academic and research strength and demonstrates the excellence of its scientists and researchers.
He affirmed that this year's achievement is the culmination of significant efforts to enhance international publishing, develop research infrastructure, and support disciplines that hold academic and societal priority.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, confirmed that the notable progress in the Shanghai ranking reflects a clear strategy implemented within the university to support research disciplines and foster international scientific cooperation. This strategy has contributed to enhancing the university's standing locally, regionally, and internationally. He expressed his hopes for continued progress in the coming years.
The Shanghai Ranking is considered one of the most prominent global classifications. It is based on rigorous research criteria, including scientific publication volume, journal quality, citation rates, international collaboration, and the number of prestigious scientific awards held by faculty members.
Mansoura University distinguished itself with a unique achievement by appearing as the sole Egyptian university in the field of Water Resources, ranking in the global 151โ200 range. This reflects the university's leadership in this vital field related to sustainability and water security.
