About the department:-

The department have a clinic which contain (17) dental unit in addition to sterilization room and others.

The department staff members teach pediatric dentistry and dental public health for 3rd and 4th grades students through lectures, and practical and clinical sessions.

For post graduates, the department provides diploma, master and doctorate degrees in both pediatric dentistry, and dental public health, for dentists. In addition, the department have some postgraduates from other countries studying for the master degree.

The department also have some community efforts, in the form of health education sessions in schools and health centers.

The department clinic provides oral treatment for children and adolescents through the supporting staff, and the training dentists under the supervision of the staff members. The department clinic also receives and treats the medically compromised and special needs children through communication with the university hospitals.

 Vision:

The department will be one of the best recognized in the Arabic countries through integrated educational programs based on high technology.

Mission:

To graduate a well qualified Dentists able to provide prevention og oral disease and provide allover oral health care children

 Goals:

 The department provides many services .
1)- students:-

1-graduate a dentist able to provide oral health care and
prevention in children and adults .
2- Knowing causes and epidemiology of oral diseases and its         
treatment  
3- Knowing methods of health education
4- oral rehabilitation for children .
2)- Community:-
- Providing health education and promotion
- Treatment of children oral diseases, in the department Clinic.
3)- Scientific reasrches :-
- teaching the postgraduate students.
